Recently I visited the fair village of Kirton Lindsey in Lincolnshire.

Outside of the period St Andrews Church I noticed this touching piece of folk art – a collection of painted pebbles in honour of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Simple and, I thought, marvellous too.
