Eastgate Studios in Beverley is hosting an exhibition of prints by artist Maggie Taylor. The exhibition, titled "Echoes of the Humber," features a collection of prints that reflect the beauty and history of the Humber region. The prints are inspired by the landscapes, wildlife, and cultural heritage of the area, showcasing Taylor's unique artistic style and technique.

These mono colour prints show strong images simplified by the use of a single colour. The themes here are the features of the Humber coast and the people who earn their livelihoods there.

The Eastgate Print Studio is a well established venue for printmaking in the heart of Beverley. The studio is known for its commitment to promoting printmaking as an art form and providing a space for artists to create and exhibit their work.
Here shown is a vintage relief printing press manufactured by Mathews of London. Modern printing presses are not as stout as this one!

Maggie Smith is a versatile artist and here we see prints in various colours, which feature the man-made and features of the coast along with the natural features which exist alongside them. Some of the features depicted are very modern such as the Hull tidal barrier.

Detail of one of Maggie Smith's prints shows a good mixture of line and colour and again the contrast of man-made and natural features.
All in all Maggie's exhibition is worth a look and the prints are affordably priced.
