As Christmas comes around we can look forward to seasonal treats and festivities. In Beverley Minster the annual Christmas Tree Festival allows local charities and organisations of goodwill to contribute a decorated tree for the enjoyment of visitors. There must have been close to 100 trees in the Minster.

Some trees were decorated in a humorous way.

Some trees promoted support for local institutions such as the local art gallery.

This tree made a much needed point about peace. Disappointingly we end 2023 with two vicious wars both of which feature heavy loss of military and civilian lives, war crimes and deliberate use of modern weapons to target civilians. In both wars incorrigible leadership refuses to compromise for the sake of humanity.
