A music themed exhibition of paintings at the Gallery, Hornsea

They say that art about art is a bad idea. I agree. But I think that art about music or theatre is a great idea as these dynamic art forms lend themselves to depictions in art - just think of Toulouse-Lautrec's paintings of the Moulin Rouge.

In that spirit the Gallery in Hornsea, East Yorkshire, has created a wonderful exhibition of music art. The exhibition features a mix of paintings in different styles and mediums. They depict musicians and musical instruments. The artists have taken a lot of care to make the art as evocative as possible.

I am too old to know who the guy is with the blonde spiky hair, but the others are clockwise Jimi Hendrix, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan. I am a fan of all three.

If you are in Hornsea, East Yorkshire, I recommend a visit to the Gallery to see this exhibition. It is a great way to spend some time.
