The Eastgate Studio in Beverley is always a good place to visit, and the current exhibition is no exception. Printmaker Eleanor Proctor has an exhibition - 'East Yorkshire in the Wild' - which runs from 17th May - 28th June 2025. The exhibition features a range of prints inspired by the nature of East Yorkshire, showcasing the region's diverse birdlife.
The prints are particularly notable for their fine detail as can be seen from the owls above. Many are in monotone and others are in colour.
Here we see two different approaches - thee Kingfisher just shows the bird itself while the lower print of a ground bird shows the landscape too.
A lovely riverside scene with bridge, reeds and several birds including martens.
Herons, puffins and other birds show the artists keen interest in birdlife.
Finally we have some multi-colour prints which show what can be achieved with this medium in addition to strong line and definition.
