This picture is about the Hanseatic League – a medieval northern European trading organisation which for several centuries brought prosperity the the cities of the Baltic and North Seas.

The painting shows the architecture at Lubeck and similar towns, and also some modern buildings from current Hanseatic cities.

The modernity and technology of the present Hanseatic economy is also reflected with satellites, aeroplanes and robots, and the modern day workforce.
